Once you have completed the landscape design that you were going for, the last thing on your list to do is show it off. One of the easiest and most efficient ways to show off your landscape is to add lighting to the mix for a night time viewing. It doesn’t matter whether you go with a few simple fixtures or a larger display of them, landscape lighting is the perfect way to show off your investment twenty four hours a day.
Always be sure to disguise any unattractive lighting. There are very few lighting fixtures that are created as beautiful as the flowers and bushes in your landscape. The majority of lighting fixtures are less than beautiful and tend to stand out. For this reason you need to stick with lighting fixtures that are easily hidden and disguised with in your garden and back yard.
Also keep in mind that more lighting also tends to attract more bugs. If pests are a real concern to you and your family then it is important to position your landscape lighting very carefully so that the bugs aren’t attracted too close to where people will be lounging. What kind of sense would it make to spend all kinds of money investing in a beautiful landscape and lighting that no one is able to enjoy?
Another thing to remember when installing landscaping lights is to use timers and switches to conserve energy. You wouldn’t want to run the lights during the day and waste electricity while costing you more money. Rather than being forced to turn them on manually you can hook them up to timers that are light sensitive.
When you are deciding where to place the landscape lighting that you chose don’t forget to place it near a particular bush or flower bed that you really want to show off. Also be sure not to over use lighting. Its beautiful to use the lighting to illuminate and design but you don’t want it to seem like it is day light.
